Manu Kumar Jain has left Xiaomi, the former executive has now revealed on Twitter. He served the technology company for 9 years and played an integral role in the rise of Xiaomi in India as the leader of the company’s operations in the Asian country.
In a lengthy letter, Jain revealed that he will be taking some time off before taking up his new professional challenge, ideally in a new industry.

Manu Kumar Jain has vacated his position as global vice president at Xiaomi, although his name has recently been linked to violations of India’s foreign exchange laws. India’s Enforcement Directorate is looking into the relationship between the Chinese company and its Indian division and the royalties flowing both ways and the now-ex-executive operating out of Dubai for the past few years.
During Jain’s tenure at Xiaomi India, the company became the top smartphone brand “without spending money on advertising,” the executive added. The expansion of the branch created more than 50,000 jobs and “100% of smartphones and smart TVs” were made in India, another campaign Jain was credited with.
Key Xiaomi executives like Alvin Tse, Global Vice President and Hugo Barra, former Director of Xiaomi, congratulated Jain and showered him with courtesies and wished him the best in his future endeavours.
