Suzuki unveiled its eVX concept at the Auto Expo 2023 in New Delhi, accompanied by a short and not very informative press release on the company’s website. The eVX is a compact crossover whose serial premiere will be presented sometime in 2025.

The Japanese automaker is pretty slow to the party and remains one of the few legacy automakers that still doesn’t have an all-electric car in its portfolio. And it seems that fans of the brand would have to wait a few more years for that.
Suzuki won’t reveal much about the technical specifications, except that the eVX has all-wheel drive, is larger than the Vitara and comes with a battery capacity close to 60 kWh and a range of about 550 km. However, this was calculated by India’s MIDC, which tends to be more optimistic.
The design is sharp and aggressive and suggests that the eVX is ready for off-road. Still, there’s still plenty of time before Suzuki actually starts producing an eVX-based car, so some things could change.
Suzuki also pointed out that it is working with Inmotive of Canada on a project that enables a two-speed transmission for EVs. This would ultimately increase efficiency and range and will be used in future Suzuki cars.
