nubia’s latest Z-series flagship is here with the nubia Z50, bringing the best of the brand with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and a 35mm-equivalent main camera.

On the front is a curved 6.67-inch AMOLED with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The screen is interrupted by a small cutout for the 16MP selfie camera. Nubia has equipped the device with stereo speakers tuned with DTS:X Ultra and Snapdragon Sound.

The camera department brings a proprietary 64MP Sony IMX 787 main camera with a 35mm equivalent lens, which should be great for portraits. The second sensor on the back is a 50MP ultra-wide module (14mm equivalent) with autofocus that also doubles as a macro camera.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, while the software side is covered by MyOS 13 over Android 13. The phone also boasts a 5000mAh battery with 80W wired charging.

The Nubia Z50 comes in black, white, and green. The base 8/128GB model will cost CNY 2,999 ($430). There’s a 12/256GB version for CNY 3,699 ($530) as well as a 12/512GB model for CNY 3,999 ($573). The top-end model with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage will retail for CNY 5,999 ($860). The open sale in China starts on December 23rd.
